July 25, 2009 Birthday Cards For Two Special Kids In Our Lives...

Happy Birthday To You! (I wish I could type in little music notes...)

This card was especially made for Luca's little friend Nicholas V. Tonight he is celebrating his last birthday here in Italy, as he is moving back to the United States with his family in just a few weeks. The cake expresses it best- in the colors of the Italian and American flags.

Just remember that each is a part of you, Nicholas! We will miss you, and we hope you have a wonderful and memorable birthday!!

By the way, have I recently mentioned how much I enjoy polka dots?
:-)

Best Wishes... For Isabella S.

This cut was made from wrapping paper. I loved the pattern on it, and just had to use it for something special. Wrapping paper tends to leave more rough edges and snags more because it is a delicate paper to cut into, but it turned out pretty well.

Happy Birthday, Isabella!

Both cards are brighter in person, by the way. If you would like to see them a little closer, just click on the image.

July 19, 2009 Hubby's Birthday Card...

I Give You My Heart...

Although we had a party, too, this was the best birthday gift I had to offer him this year.

"Anthony, I love you. I thank God for the days He has blessed you, and essentially us, with. For we know that "this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalm 118:24

Happy Birthday!!!"

July 17, 2009 Two New Baby Cuts And A Happy Birthday Cut, Too...

Geremia 29:11 #2 (scripture reference is in Italian spelling)

This cut is for the baby boy born to a neighbor of ours down the street. I have yet to meet this new, little blessing from God, but I plan to soon.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 says, "For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."

To me, that is a "hope mingled with joy" cut. I have had my personal journeys in search of truth, and I have found God. I am continuing on in my journey, sometimes walking, running, trudging through. When I have been too weary to take the steps to continue on, He has met me where I am. He is a faithful and loving God. Thank you, Jesus!

The Visitor (AKA in Italian... Il Visitatore)

This cut is for a friend of mine who just had a baby girl. She lives far up north but is here visiting family for summer vacation. So I get to share this with her before she goes back to her home.

Happy Feet Playing Soccer...

My second son just celebrated his 7th birthday, and we had a "Footbook" And All Things Feet party. It was a blast. I have yet to post pictures, but when I do, I will attach the link.

July 16, 2009 Just a noted update...

I just want to let you know that I am currently working on 4 papercuts at one time, and have two or three on the back brainstorm burner. Life is still busy, but has slowed down enough that I can officially enjoy some art/imagination/inspiration time. Nice!!! Soon...

July 9, 2009 I Will Have Some New Entries Soon...

Sorry, All, I have been so busy with the challenges of life that I have not been able to do any papercutting these last couple of weeks. But... things should slow down a bit next week, and I look forward to showing you some new work then.

Until then, I hope you will bear with me, and I hope you will have a great day.
